Life Lessons

I have many different reasons why I choose Special Education as the field I would like to work in. I have family members that have different disabilities and I also have a learning disability as well. I feel fortunate that I am the first one is my family to have a disability because I have always been able to show my younger cousins, niece and nephew who have different disabilities that just because you have a disability does not mean you are a disabled person. Some people when they find out a person has a disability labels them disabled which is unfair. People should remember that a disability is only one aspect of that person. I personally feel that my learning disability is a blessing is disguise because I have learned so much about my self as well as many important life lessons. I embrace people's differences instead of judging a person for their differences. I have great empathy towards people.
These are some of the reasons why I want to work with people who have special needs. It is important for them to see that yes they may have limitations but what they can do with their life is limitless. I want to make a difference in their life.

specialized horseback riding lessons

After doing my product description which was about specialized horseback riding lessons, I found that I would love to do this. As a teacher I would inform parents about this program and encourage students to try this. I think for students who have any kind of disability it is important for them to try new things. By having programs like this one in particular, it helps people who have disabilities to improve their skills but their self esteem more importantly.

I am going to school for special education. When I become a teacher I am considering having each student have their own blog or journal. I think it will help them out in two ways. It will help improve english skills along with helping them to cope with thier emotions. I think the students will enjoy this becuase they will have their own special place to write whatever they choose.

Blog

Once again it is Sunday and I am writing my weekly blog. Much like technical writing and I am going to make this blog short, direct, clear and concise. I am doing more and more of blogging and I find it is becoming a strength of mine. I like to blog because I can not only choose to write whatever I choose, I can also convey my thoughts and feelings easily while writing. Blogging is a great way to just let go and say whatever a person wants to say. Another aspect of blogging that can be used for education which is the major that I am in is to have students write their own blog. As a special education teacher I am thinking about having students do a blog like this. I think it may help them in a multitude of ways. It is interesting what happens when you blog and what ideas come to mind!

Email

I have been using email for years now. I thought I new the ins and outs of email. Now I am learning that there are aspects of email I have yet to learn about. Tech writing is not only teaching me to write better but to write emails better. I can be short and direct with few words. Instead of being lengthy and wordy. Learning the correct way to write emails especially in the business world is important. As a teacher this course will help to improve all my writing skills including writing emails.

Course Information

This course information teaches students on how to write in a technical format. By learning this, it can help in our everyday day lives. An example of this could be in a our job field and how we write. By taking this course people can become better at writing. People can posses better professional skills when writing. My goal is to become a better writer and learn more writing skills.

Technical writing

I am still learning what technical writing is. I do know some aspects of this particular writing. This type of writing is direct and to the point. By using technical writing the writer can learn to put their thoughts and feelings down on paper in a more constructive and professional manner. I have still have many more things to learn about this course. By learning about technical writing I will become a better and well rounded writer.
